Stop. Sushi Time!

I'm not going to post a recipe for sushi. Many people have already done that, so either read the directions on the stuff you buy, or look up a recipe on google.

First off I have to mention that most of the effort in making the sushi was actually from my boyfriend (in fact, I only helped putting together the finished rolls). So thanks Martin for making great sushi again! :)
Secondly, I also have to mention that the sushi we made last night was not how we usually make sushi. We forgot that we had already packed the sushi rolling mat (and all but 1 pair of chopsticks), so we have to make do and just make nigiri and hand rolled maki.
And lastly, we almost always make salmon or spicy salmon. Why? Well because Martin is good at making those types of rolls and the quality of salmon in the Netherlands is good.

So this is how we made our sushi tonight:

First make the rice and then season it with seasoned rice vinegar and sugar. Then cool it down with a fan and keep mixing it until it is cool enough to handle:

Then make the rice until little balls and wrap with nori:

Then the salmon on top of the maki and nigiri. And add spicy sauce if desired:

And the final product:

It was very tasty and it reminds me of hanging with friends at all-you-can-eat sushi :)
